Pre-Conference Activities Schedule - Wednesday, May 6, 2026:
When registering for the conference, you pre-paid to participate in one of the following pre-conference activities. If you are unsure whether you pre-registered, the respective host organizations will have your details on file.
Heritage Walk:
Start Times: Two tour options are available — 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm
Duration: 1 hour
Location: Please meet outside the Central Park Building (Bulkley Valley Museum, 1425 Main Street) 10 minutes prior to your tour start time.
What to bring:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- A bottle of water
- A warm and/or waterproof jacket, depending on the weather
- An umbrella (if rain is expected)
If you would like to participate in the tour and did not pre-register, you are still welcome to join. We kindly ask that you contribute a $15 donation to the Museum.
Hy-Tech Tour:
Time: 3:00 pm
Duration: 1.5 hours
Location: Please meet in Hy-Tech’s admin building, 2715 Tatlow Road – the building on the left as you enter their parking area.

Golf & Lunch:
Time: 11:00 am to 2:30 pm
Location: Smithers Golf & Country Club, 1200 Scotia Street
Enjoy a taco lunch buffet and dessert at Mulligan’s Restaurant either before or after golf. To rent golf equipment or golf cart at an additional charge, please contact the Smithers Golf Club directly at 250-847-3591 before end April 2026, or bring your own equipment.

Scenic Flight Tour & Lunch:
Time: 12:00 pm – lunch, followed by flight tour at 1:00 pm. Please allow 1 hour for the flight.
Lunch Location: Runway Café & Bar, inside the Smithers Regional Airport building.
Flight Location: Departure from Smithers Regional Airport main building.
- Enjoy lunch at Runway Café & Bar from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. As you have pre-paid for lunch, gratuity is included, but excludes drinks.
- After lunch, please make you way to Alpine Lakes Air to enjoy a 25-minute flight tour to see the mountains that surround Smithers.
- Please allow 1 hour for the flight, which includes the flight, safety briefing, taxiing, etc.
- Flights are subject to weather conditions. Full flight refunds will be issued after the conference if a flight is cancelled due to weather. However, no refunds will be provided for non-attendance.
- Please wear suitable outdoor clothing for prevailing winds, long pants, closed shoes, and a light to medium jacket.
